The race committee canceled Louis Vuitton Cup racing on Monday after the sea breeze again failed to kick in off Valencia, Spain. Eight days into the regatta, light air has stymied all but three flights of racing. BMW ORACLE Racing, which carried three Louis Vuitton Act Bonus Points into the event, has defeated China Team, United Internet Team Germany, and Team Shosholoza thus far and currently leads the rankings. Italy’s Luna Rossa Challenge is tied for first, having won won matches against Victory Challenge, United Internet Team Germany, and China Team. The biggest excitement of the first three flights of racing, however, was Mascalzone Latino-Capitalia’s upset of Emirates Team New Zealand on Friday.
