Sixth Team Enters Barcelona World Race

News brief

The doublehanded Barcelona World Race, which starts November 2007, announced the sixth team to officially enter the race. The latest entry will be skippered by Spanish sailor Guillermo Altadill, 44, and British sailor Brian Thompson, 45. They will be racing the new Farr Design Open 60 currently under construction in Cowes, Isle of Wight. The boat is due to be completed by the end of May and will be followed by an official launch and the announcement of the confirmed title sponsor shortly after.The pair raced together on the Maxi catamaran Cheyenne when they claimed the crewed round the world record in 2004 of 58 days, 9 hours, 36 minutes and 40 seconds, and between them they have eight circumnavigations.
