Three American teams are on the verge of qualifying for the Olympics at the moment, with one more team on the threatening to of grab a qualification spot. 75% of Olympic qualifying spots are earned during the the ISAF Worlds, held this year in Cascais, France.Sally Barkow, Carrie Howe, and Debbie Capozzi are in third place in the 35-boat Yngling class. The top American in the Laser Radial class is Anna Tunnicliffe, who is currently 6th out of 54. Paige Railey is 22nd. After today’s races, Nathan Wilmot and Malcolm Page (AUS) convincingly take the overall lead by scoring two second places. They lead by 11 points from Stuart McNay and Graham Biehl. Mikee Anderson and David Hughes are in 14th.No US star sailor made the Medal Race, leaving Mark Reynolds and Hal Haenal, currently 12th, to fight for 6 points over the last 2 races to get the 11th Olympic qualification spot.Andrew Campbell took a black flag in race 4, and has dropped to 31st overall out of 50.
