Gate starts? If you know someone who has raced internationally in large dinghy fleets, there’s a good chance you’ve heard about “the gate.” Since these starts are rarely used in North America, however, there’s a better chance that you’ve never heard of it. Yet with a large fleet, the gate is probably the fairest method of starting. Read more here.
