After just two years of college sailing, Dartmouth’s Deirdre Lambert was named Quantum Women’s College Sailor of the year, on top of earning All-American honors. Despite such success so early on in her college sailing career, Lambert remains grounded and focused on improvement—for not only herself, but for the entire Big Green sailing team.

The breeze came in for the 11th annual C. Thomas Clagett, Jr. Memorial Clinic & Regatta, where 36 sailors with disabilities sailed 23 boats in three Paralympic classes on Narragansett Bay. Four MOD70s, including Yann Guichard’s Spindrift Racing, compete in the Route des Princes, a stage race over 3,045 nautical miles between Valencia and the Bay of Morlaix via Lisbon, Dublin-Dún Loaghaire, and Plymouth.
The MOD70 Spindrift capsized during the Route des Princes offshore race, shattering the mast and sending skipper Yann Guichard’s brother Jacques to the hospital with a broken pelvis.
