At the 2014 New York Yacht Club Race Week, organizers tried some new concepts, including stadium-style racing that took place on Thursday and Friday. Viewable from the shorelines of Jamestown and Newport, the keelboats had windward-leeward laps, while the swift Marstrom 32 catamarans wove in and out and about as fast as they could on America’s Cup style courses.

All in the name of fun and fundraising, Newport’s 20th annual Leukemia Cup regatta raised over $200,000 for Leukemia and Lymphoma research.
