Concise 10 Finishes Fastnet

Tony Lawson’s MOD 70 Concise 10 crossed the finish line in just over 42 hours, while Dongfeng leads the Volvo Ocean Racers around Fastnet Rock.

Despite a broken rudder and a destroyed outboard headsail lead, Dongfeng Race Team pushed Leg 1 winner Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing all the way into the finish. Skipper Charles Caudrelier says a combination of key trimmer/helmsmen in his team, and the ability to push hard in a straight line made them the fastest boat on the course at times.

VOR Leg 1: Insight from Dongfeng

Despite a broken rudder and a destroyed outboard headsail lead, Dongfeng Race Team pushed Leg 1 winner Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing all the way into the finish.

TEAM DONFENG's CHARLES CAUDRELIER, skipper of the Volvo Ocean Race’s first full-fledged Chinese entry, admits his
team faces a long uphill climb. With four young and inexperienced sailors learning the ropes, he’s optimistic of their improvement, but the ultimate goal is to raise awareness and the profile of sailing in China.

Dongfeng Racing faces a tough road with a crew of first-generation ocean racers.
