From the perspective of a self-proclaimed average Joe match racer, the America’s Cup 34 desperately needs an infusion of close racing to add substance to its shiny surface.

Under a black flag, the fleet got started in a building seabreeze. Zbogar (SLO) still leads, but the scoreboard has tightened up–just one point behind is Jonathan Lobert (FRA) and Ed Wright (GBR is just another two points back.
After Monday’s poor showing of breeze, Tuesday (Day 2) brought a gorgeous seabreeze to the anxiously awaiting fleet at the Finn European Championship in Warnemunde, Germany. Vasilij Zbogar (SLO) quickly pulled ahead to first, with Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO) and Andrew Murdoch (NZL) in second and third, respectively. Watch the three races here.
Artemis racing debuted “Big Blue,” the Swedish challenger’s second AC72, on Wednesday. “Today could not have gone any better. Edgartown Yacht Club’s three-day Race Weekend brought full-on action with over 20 knots of breeze. During the 54.7 nautical mile ‘Round-the-Island Race, 62 teams battled it out, but 90 foot maxi yacht _Rambler _took home the Concord Cup for fastest time around the island, recording the fastest time for circumnavigation during the event to date.
