Sperry Top-Sider Chicago NOOD Draws to a Close

Beneteau 40.7_ La Tempete_ takes top honors at the 2012 Chicago NOOD

The final day of the Chicago leg of the Sperry Top-Sider NOOD Regatta greeted sailors with gorgeous weather and consistent 5-10 knot wind, setting the stage for a full day of racing on Lake Michigan. After putting in a third consecutive day of top-notch sailing in the Beneteau 40.7 class, Tom Weber, skipper of LaTempete was declared the overall winner at the Chicago stop of the country’s largest regatta tour.

As overall winner, Weber and his crew have received an invite to participate in the Sperry Top-Sider NOOD Championship Regatta in the British Virgin Islands at the end of the season to compete aboard Sunsail 44i’s against the other overall winners from the 2012 series. Following Chicago, the Sperry Top-Sider NOOD Regatta series will sail on to its next stop Marblehead, MA, and San Francisco, CA.
