Weather continues to stymie the Louis Vuitton Cup, as Flight 5 of Round Robin 2 was cancelled on Thursday. The race committee sent the fleet to shore in the early afternoon. Conditions were nearly impossible for racing, with a series of thunder cells rolling up from the south, bringing rain, hail, thunder and lightning to Valencia and the waters around Port America’s Cup. In between thunderstorms, a light gradient breeze from the south at near 8 knots appeared, but there was never enough time between storms to set a race course. A double flight will be scheduled on Friday, Flight 5 followed by Flight 6.
