The Shelter Island Yacht Club is hosting Race Week at Shelter Island, a 3 day regatta August 5-7 to be held on the beautiful waters of Shelter Island N.Y located between the twin forks of Eastern Long Island.

The 3 day event will feature both PHRF and IRC racing as well as One Design, Classics, and Navigator races. The event will kick off with a race around Shelter Island on August 5, which will be scored separately, followed by two days of buoy racing for the IRC, PHRF and one-design classes, and point-to-point racing for the navigator classes on August 6 and 7. The SIYC will host daily awards parties with prizes for each days racing and for the overall two day series.

Shelter Island Yacht Club Commodore Jamie Mills is looking forward to welcoming sailors to the inaugural event, “sailors have long loved to come to our island and club. We are planning to giving them a chance to have a first class regatta on our waters. With a number of great sailing venues, the many great amenities on the island and the welcoming atmosphere of our club we are sure great racing and a good time will be had by all who come.”
