The three-day, 87-boat International Rolex Regatta wrapped up in St. Thomas, USVI, on Sunday. Of the seven class winners, three posted perfect scores– Doug Baker’s J Bird 4 in Spinnaker Racing Class 3, Chris Stanton’s Devil 3 in Spinnaker Racing Class 2, and Christopher Lloyd’s Three Harkoms in the Non-Spinnaker Class.Sunday’s distance race posed a challenge to the Californians aboard J Bird 4, whose lack of local knowledge had been less of a disadvantage in the around the buoys portion of the regatta. “Our strength is buoy racing, because there is not as much local knowledge involved ” said tactician Keith Kilpatrick. “Today on the first beat, we really didn’t know which way to go — but it was all fun.”For complete results, click here.
