Mari-Cha IV Transatlantic Attempt to Start Thursday Morning

The 140-foot Schooner Will Leave New York in the Early Morning Hours

A representative from the Mari-Cha IV crew has announced that the new 140-foot schooner will be attempting to break the West-East Transatlantic record beginning at around 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning. The 2,925-mile course will take M-C IV from Ambrose light off New York City to the Lizard, a lighthouse at Land’s End England, the entrance to the English Channel. The current holder of the record is Swiss sailor Bernard Stamm, who sailed his fully-crewed Open 60 Armor Lux-Foie Gas Bizac across in 8d:20h:55m:35s, an average speed of 13.73 knots.You can follow the progress on M-C IV at http://www.mari-cha4.com
