J/70 Worlds Kick Off In Newport

With a total of 86 boats, the NY Yacht Club-hosted regatta has taken over Narragansett Bay.

12-18 knot easterly winds and significant swells made for an exciting first day of racing in the J/70 World Championship, presented by Helly Hansen. Daily cumulative results can be found on the J/70 World Championship Website, and Sailing World will continue to post photos and updates throughout the championship, which runs through September 13th, 2014.
