Frers (b. 1941) designed his first boat at the age of 16 and by 23 was working for the design office of Sparkman & Stephens. He moved back to his native Argentina to run his father’s Buenos Aries design office where he established a long-term relationship as Nautor Swan’s principal designer of their line of racer/cruisers.

With more than 600 yachts to his credit, his portfolio of winners include maxiboats Flyer and Boomerang as well as Il Moro di Venezia and Luna Rossa for the Italian America’s Cup syndicates in ’92 and 2000 respectively. Frers also designed Nautor Challenge’s Volvo 60 Amer Sports One that went around the world in the ’01-’02 Volvo Ocean Race.

His impressive design resume continues with Admiral’s Cup, Transpac, Whitbread, SORC, Kenwood Cup, IMS Worlds, and Maxi World champions.
