Flying High With Oracle Team USA

ORACLE TEAM USA has been flying high above the Great Sound in Bermuda since returning from racing at the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series in Portsmouth.

ORACLE TEAM USA has been flying high above the Great Sound in Bermuda since returning from racing at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series in Portsmouth.

The team has been training on the single-handed, foiling Moth dinghies, while its AC45 Sport boat undergoes modifications.

“This is how we can stay sharp with our skills while the AC45S is in the shed,” said sailing team manager Tom Slingsby. “It allows us to spend time on the America’s Cup race course area and learn more about where we will be racing in October this year and for the Cup in 2017.”

The team’s second AC45 Sport boat platform is expected to arrive in Bermuda within days, but both boats are still a few weeks away from being ready to sail, making the Moth training an important focus for the sailing team.

ORACLE TEAM USA will next compete in Sweden at the end of the month in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Gothenburg.
