Sailing World’s NOOD Regattas Go International

There’s a new north-of-the-border venue for the NOOD regattas in 2004. On June 24, 25, and 26, the Royal Canadian YC, assisted by Ashbridges Bay YC and National YC, will host the first Sailing World Toronto NOOD. One design classes expected to participate include J/105, J/24, J/35, Shark, Etchells, Star, C&C fleets, Mumm 30, Farr 40, and other classes, including level PHRF classes bringing six or more boats to the starting line.

“The Royal Canadian YC is greatly looking forward to hosting the Toronto NOOD Regatta,” says Chris Steer, Chairman of the Lake Ontario Racing Council. “We’re hoping the Toronto NOOD will be the largest regatta held on Lake Ontario in 20 years. We hope to attract sailors from all around Lake Ontario as well as from Montreal and Halifax to the east and Detroit and Chicago to the west.” The parties and awards ceremonies will be at the Royal Canadian YC’s Island Clubhouse, located on the Toronto Islands.
