Flying Scot North Americans

Newbrief
by The Editors

The largest Flying Scot North American Championship (NAC) in history took place on the 50th anniversary of the design yesterday at Fishing Bay Yacht Club (FBYC) in Deltaville VA. From Sunday through Thursday, 119 Flying Scots competed for continental championship honors in 18 races in the Championship, Challenger, Women and Junior Divisions in the Piankatank River mouth and Chesapeake Bay just off Middlesex County, Virginia. This year's event stood in marked contrast to the disastrous 2006 NAC in Marblehead, Massachusetts, struck by a microburst tornadic storm that damaged or destroyed much of the fleet.Championship Division (59 Boats)1st        Jeff Linton/Amy Linton, Tampa FL2nd        Kelly Gough/Heidi Gough, Dallas TX3rd        Ryan Malmgren/Kris Smith, Madison WI4th        Ronald Pletch/Dan Pletch, Sarasota FL5th        Hunter Riddle/Suzanne Riddle, Pensacola FL Challenger Division (42 Boats)1st        Michael Mittman/Greta Mittman, Dallas TX2nd        Tom Clark/Dick Dommell, Chattanoga TN3rd        Greg Kamf/Diane Kamf, Linwood MA4th        Jack Stewart/Martha Stewart, Alliance OH5th        Stewart Cofield/Rob Fowler, Chatsworth GA Junior Division (12 Boats)1st        Elliot Lee/Paul Lee, Detroit MI2nd        Cori Radtke/Art Radtke, Weems VA3rd        Alex Jacob/James Jacob, Alexandria VA Women's Division (8 Boats) 1st        Greta Mittman/Heidi Gough, Dallas TX2nd        Melanie Dunham/Carrie Carpenter/Carrie Berger, Pawling NY3rd        Linda Nicholson/Ginny Mangan, Huntingdon Valley PAFor full results and more information, please visit:http://www.fbyc.net/Events/2007/06.24.onedesign/ssi.dtml
