This photo I took below decks on the Vodaphone trimaran at Australia's Hamilton Island Race Week may not win any accolades, but I like it. The cramped, high-tech feel of the cabin reminds me of a spaceship, and the beam of light shining through the hatch could be a teleporter.

Somewhere out there—perhaps in the bottom of a gear bag, on a camera with a full memory card—there's a great racing photo waiting to see the light of day. The winner of Sailing World’s Fall Photo Contest will receive a prize pack featuring official gear from the Sperry Top-Sider NOOD regatta series. First place receives a blue NOOD-logo backpack by North Sails, a NOOD-logo belt, and a red NOOD T-shirt. Second and third place will each receive 2012 Dr. Crash calendars.
