Despite weak winds at the Sperry Top-Sider NOOD Regatta, the first scheduled full-day of action in Marblehead saw races completed from a handful of classes in the country’s largest sailboat racing series. In conjunction with the 123rd running of Marblehead Race Week, the Rhodes 19 class put on an impressive nautical demo to overcome the less than stellar conditions and set the stage for a highly-competitive weekend of racing to come. The paramount performance from the Rhodes 19 boats, the largest class in this year’s regatta which also completed three races yesterday, has come from Bight Me. Based out of Marblehead, the crew aboard Bight Me has posted a two-day, four-race total score of 7-points to lead the class heading into Saturday’s pivotal day of racing.
