The SoCal 300, a new regatta aimed creating offshore racing opportunities in Southern California, wrapped up last week and was a great success.

The SoCal 300 was a new regatta this year, aimed at serious ocean racing teams that want to tackle a challenging offshore course in Southern California. Hosted in partnership with Santa Barbara Yacht Club and San Diego Yacht Club, the SoCal 300 started on May 22 in Santa Barbara with the fleet weaving through the coastal islands before finishing in San Diego.

The inaugural race saw 7 yachts competing across 2 divisions. Yachts ranged in size from an Express 37 to the 100 foot maxi Rio 100. Race designers and partners are excited about the results of the first SoCal 300 and are looking forward to increasing turn out next year as the event is now a qualifying race for the Transpac.
