For the first time in its 54-year history, the Royal Bermuda YC’s ADT Gold Cup match race event will include a graded women’s match racing competition. The ADT Women’s Match Race Championship will be contested Oct. 12 to 15 and will offer a prize purse of $15,000. In addition the winner and runner-up from the women’s competition will receive a slot in the Gold Cup finals, an ISAF Grade 1 match racing event and a part of the Swedish Match Grand Prix Tour. The ADT Gold Cup championship round will begin on Oct. 17. Both regattas will be sailed in IODs on short windward-leeward courses on Hamilton Harbour.

The winners of the BoatU.S. Santa Maria Cup, held May 29 to June 1 in Annapolis, Md., and the Swedish Match Women’s Cup, July 1 to 7 in Marstrand, Sweden, will receive automatic entry into the ADT Women’s Match Racing Championship. Other interested sailors should contact RBYC Sailing Manager Kevin Blee at [email protected] or visit the regatta website at www.adtgoldcup.com
