The Golden Year of Racing: The 12 Metre World Championships

ESPN Classic presents this enduring tale of the International 12 Metre Class. Seventeen 12 Metres built between 1928 and 1986 compete in a series of races off Newport, RI. Thirty-five sailors are interviewed throughout the program. All 17 boats that took part are also featured in this one hour presentation.

Host Gary Jobson takes you onboard America’s Cup winners Intrepid, Courageous and Freedom as well as the “Plastics Fantastics” KZ 3 and KZ 7, Easterner and US 61.
