For 2019, Moroz will pair with Dane Wilson, a high-performance sailor and coach who campaigned a 49er ahead of the 2016 Games.
“Dane and I trained together last summer and again in Mexico over the winter,” she says. “We get along, and I respect his outlook. Unlike a lot of kiters, he understands how much discipline goes into training. I’ve always been competitive, and I started as a swimmer. To swim well, you have to go to every practice. I’ve translated that to kiting, and any time I’m on the water I’m trying to learn something. I tell myself to make it count. Every Olympic-level athlete understands that.”
