July 13, 2006Club Swan 42 Takes Inaugural Sailby The EditorsThe new Club Swan 42 had its first sea trials on June 28 and 29, sailing from the Nautor yard in Pietarsaari, Finland. The original concept for the 42-foot racer/cruiser was formed through a partnership between the New York YC and Nautor's Swan. In July 2005, the New York Yacht Club selected Nautor's Swan as its partner for a new international one-design racing class. Designed by the German Frers design office in collaboration with Nautor's Swan, to specifications developed by the NYYC, this new model is designed to be a high performance racer/cruiser.
