To this day, three-time 470 World champion sailmaker Ullman (b.
1946) is a force to reckon with on the racecourse, and his long list of
one-design titles includes Snipe, Thistle, Sabot, Melges 24, Coronado
15, five Lipton Cup wins, ten Lido 14 titles, and many more.
Ullman
has won events as diverse as the Mallory Cup and the SORC, going on to
compete in the Admiral's Cup. Since the mid '90s he's been one of the
best Melges 24 sailors in the United States and, in 1996, was named
Rolex Yachtsman of the Year
