    Kirby v. Rastegar, The Complaint
    Bruce Kirby, Inc., creator of the Laser, filed suit in a Connecticut District Court last month, the latest move in an attempt to claim past due royalties from the Laser's American and European builder (LaserPerformance), and take ownership of the tooling. Here's the official complaint in its entirety, which makes a compelling argument in his favor. LaserPerformance owner Farzad Rastegar, has not made any public statements regarding the complaint.

    Block Island Race Week Preview
    Eight championship events, including the IRC and HPR North Americans, will be held at the Storm Trysail Club’s Block Island Race Week this June. Over 150 boats have signed up for the 25th anniversary of the biennial event. New fleets include classic boats, doublehanded boats, and Gunboats. As usual, the regatta will include an 18-mile around-the-island race.

    Rochester YC (N.Y.) hosted 96 J/24s for the 2012 World Championship on Lake Ontario this September. After the 10-race series, Brazil's Mauricio Santa Cruz and team on Bruschetta took the championship title, while the U.S. team of John Mollicone and 11th Hour Racing finished second.
