Introducing the Pro 40 and Amateur 40! In our January 1987 issue, we predicted what sailboats would look like when we turned 50.
In 1987, we predicted that sailboats would look a lot different. And they do... but we still haven't seen anything quite like Pro 40s racing in the Intergalactic Grand Prix: "The all-important crew training, supervised by kinetics consultants Mikhail Baryshnikov and Refrigerator Perry, will pay off in the light-air finale of the Intergalactics, held in the spectator-friendly Bosporus."
